Counselling Fees and Charges

One-on-one Sessions (Singles)

The fees set out below are per 50 min session. Fees are payable by cash or card on the day or by bank transfer prior to your appointment.

Assessment/First Session

$192.50

The first session is for gathering information in order to understand your presenting issue/s. At the conclusion of this session you will have an understanding of the estimated duration and cost of counselling. At the conclusion of your first session we will have formulated a treatment plan to suit your particular needs. It is important to remember that you can conclude your treatment at any stage of the process, there is no obligation for you to continue.

Second and Subsequent Sessions

$192.50

Your treatment begins from the second session and will continue until it's conclusion or until you decide to stop. In many cases within 6 - 8 sessions you will begin to notice significant progress towards your goals.

Progress Reviews

From time to time, you may wish to pause your therapy and review your progress. Often times, you may wish to have a loved one present for this session. The session will focus on reviewing your progress against the goals that were set at the start of the treatment. At this stage you will refocus and figure your next steps for therapy.

Reports/Letters for Court and other purposes

All court letters and progress reports require two weeks notice and are to be paid in advance, in full, at the time of request. No refunds are given once a letter or report has been completed even if you no longer need it.

One Page Court Report or Letter

$96.25

This will comprise a short one page summary of your attendance and progress with counselling. If a more detailed report is required an additional fee of $55 per page will apply.

14 days notice is required for reports. All requests for reports must be submitted by email and are to be paid for in advance.

Reports will not be commenced until full payment has been received. Once completed your report will be emailed to you.

Representation/Advocacy

$192.50 per hour

At times you may require advocacy or representation in court, tribunal or for other purposes Eg., a subpoena. It is understood that all such representation will incur a fee which will be at the current standard hourly rate. These fees are payable in advance.

Please note that a document preparation fee will be charged in addition to the representation fee.

Other Admin

$192.50 p/hr

All other tasks requested by clients or their representatives will incur a minimum 60min charge and if the task goes beyond 60min it will be billed in 15 min increments at the current hourly rate.

Couples and Family Sessions

When two or more participants are involved in the session, the complexity of the work increases and therefore will attract an additional cost for this. There will be no charge for bringing a support person.

Couples/Family Session (50 min)

$242 per couple

You may bring your partner or other family members to participate in the session. All participants will be required to sign consent forms. A parent or guardian must sign for children 16 or under.

There is no charge for a support person

Overtime Charge - Singles

$49.50 per 15 minutes

Sometimes a session can go overtime due to the nature of the issue being discussed. 10 minutes grace is allowed at no cost. If a session goes beyond an hour it will be charged in 15 min blocks.

Overtime Charge - Couples/Family

$60.50 per 15 minutes

Online or Phone Counselling

Where necessary and if deemed suitable, you may opt for some sessions via Skype|Zoom|Facetime or just over the phone. Sometimes you may wish to speak with your therapist for support in between your planned sessions.

Phone Support

You may choose to call in between planned sessions for support. You will be charged in 15 min blocks and invoiced at the end of the conversation.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation With Prior Notice

Sometimes life gets hectic, kids get sick and things just happen! It is understood that you cannot always make it to your session and family comes first. Therefore, under special circumstances if you give your therapist at least 4 hrs prior notice of a non attendance, your fee will be waived as a one off gesture of good will. If you cancel after 4 hrs you will be charged 100% of the full fee of your session.

Communication is the key! You can easily avoid any non attendance fees by giving plenty of notice. No fees will be charged with 48 hrs notice of cancellation.

If you miss two consecutive sessions your treatment will be put on hold until things settle down and you are able to commit to regularly attending your sessions.

If you have paid your fees in advance and change your mind about counselling and have given adequate notice as stipulated above, you will be given a full refund less any administrative costs where applicable.
